Week 85 Oslo Norway

Man this week was full of unexpected things!

We started off with some solid lessons and a lot of office work! We had to buy tons of tickets for conferences and splits and stuff so we were at our office from 9 to 10:15! Then we came back and our power was off, so we tried to flip some breakers but nothing happened. So we went to bed and hoped it would turn back on soon. We woke up and all our food was wrecked and the power was still off. So we called our landlord and he told us the code to the buildings breaker room and we go in there and we see a fat sticker that said we had missed our payment so they took out our fuses and said if we put them back in they would call the police. So we call up our office couple and they figured it out for us but since Norwegians shut things down for the whole weekend they couldn't come turn it on because it wasn't a business day. So we just moved back into President and Sister Tew's house for 4 days until we got our power back on. It was really annoying but it ended up being a good time at the mission home, like always. Sad thing is that we lost all our food we had bought!

We had some sweet lessons with some of our progressing investigators but then got a fat parking ticket at our last one. The parking ticket trolls here are so good at their job it's annoying! Life is good, we have a solid teaching pool and 1 who should be baptized here soon! It snowed a ton this week which was fun but at the same time I can't wait for summer so that the corona will go away! Hope you all have a great week 🙌🏽

Week 84 Oslo Norway

 Halla!

This week was legit, we had moves and I got a new companion with me here in the office his name is Elder Farnsworth and he went to Corner Canyon. He's a stud and I'm stoked to get to work with him. We've had some good lessons with the people we're teaching and they're keeping commitments which is the best thing to have as a missionary. Life is good and the grind never stops! We always have a lot of stuff and things to set up and plan for at the beginning of each transfer, so it was a couple late nights at the office and a lot of missed dinners but that's alright. I've developed a new skill, I could find you the cheapest flights to anywhere in Norway in heart beat. We had splits with the boys and it was fun. We grinded and then had kebab and played spike ball at the church. I said goodbye to some of the OGs here on the mission. Elders Meldrum and Judson. Both legends and homies for life! We dropped them off at the airport at like 4:20 am so we had a long day. Then we had to do a bunch of office stuff and then we switched out our van for a new one and she rides nice! Then we had mission leadership council and that was fun, we got some good food and talked about how we can hype up the mission.

I've been reading in Alma this week and I love the insights I get. I was reading about the legendary companionship of Alma and Amulek. They were both studs and great missionaries! Amulek was visited by an angel and told him that a prophet was going to come to him, but it says that he was prompted many times before but he didn't listen because he was busy with other things. I've noticed that even though we are busy with productive things it can be very easy to miss spiritual promptings. There was a story I read about a previous member of the presiding bishopric. His son was killed in a railroad accident and the whole family was distraught and devastated. While the mom was praying one day the son talked to her and said that everything was ok, it was an accident and not to worry! And then he said " tell dad to take time to listen to spiritual promptings, he was to busy with work and things he couldn't hear me!" It made me realize how much we can miss out on if we don't prioritize time each day to listen to the Holy Ghost speaking to us.

Love y'all have a good week 🙌🏽

Week 83 Oslo Norway

 Sorry for super short emails!

We have a friend who is getting baptized on March 6, which is super dope and he's such a stud! We've had lots of lessons and meetings and stuff so I stay pretty busy. We had splits with some of the boys this week and that was fun. Elder Meldrum and Judson ( two of the homies from the mission ) will be heading home tomorrow so that'll be weird. Excited for them though! I love come follow me and the Doctrine and Covenants it's so good.

Love you all have a good week!

Week 82 Oslo Norway

 What's up everyone!

Times flying by and I'm chilling here in Norway! We have super strict rules from the Prime Minister on what we can do right now in lockdown so we're finding the loopholes by going on a lot hikes and getting together for bonfires. Our days are scheduled tight and we're keeping really busy! We have another busy day today so this one will be short but life is great, I love being a missionary! Our friend from Italy has a baptismal date set for the 6th of March and he's doing really well with living the commandments and reading the Book of Mormon.  We tell him these are the 2 best things he could be doing while he's working towards baptism. I'm so happy for him and for the progress he's been making. It's so weird time has been cruising and I'm just in this routine and things are well. I love working with President and Sister Tew they're such amazing people and such great examples to all of us. We had another Zone Conference this week and it was a good one but actually pretty brutal! Almost all the missionaries that were here before Corona are going home this summer! So we've had to push the young ones a ton because they've never knocked a door or street contacted so their language skills and people skills aren't up to par where President would like them to be before he heads home. So we told them to step it up and then hyped them up about they're studies and putting in the work.

I love studying Come Follow Me, the Doctrine and Covenants is so fire. I just finished the Lectures on Faith and it was such a good book. I have to admit, my mom will be so happy, I love reading! So much knowledge to gain and I am so grateful I have this time in my life to learn a ton.

Have a good week love you all!
