Oi everyone, things are going good here in the Kingdom of Norway!
This week was just awesome! Filled with lots of cool morning runs to some sweet places, hearing from our living prophet and apostles in General Conference and lots of teaches! We have a couple new people we're teaching that are super cool! We had this one guy we stopped on the streets because he had a sick pair of Jordan 1s on and I started talking to him about them! And he was like, "are you guys the Mormons?" And we were like that was a nickname people gave us but we're members of the Church of Jesus Christ! And he's like, "oh like the musical play?" And we started laughing and were like yeh! He then started asking so many questions and we clarified lots of stuff for him! Then he said "so you guys are like normal nice dudes just trying to help people strengthen there relationships with God? " and I was like yes exactly man! And he was like ok cool let's meet another time then it was super cool! We taught one of our homies from Eritreya and he's so cool! He's an African preacher and he wanted to talk more with us about what we believe and he said he would read to see if the Book of Mormon was true because that's the only way we can find out for ourselves which is so cool. We also had a good lesson with the family we are teaching and they made us some proper Norwegian food and then we had an awesome lesson. This week I was also preparing a lot for General Conference! I was thinking of questions that I wanted answered in my own personal life and in the lives of the people we are teaching! So one morning me and my comp took some banana bread that we made and some weird looking peanut paste we found in some Asian market thing and hiked up this morning for exercise and had personal study up in the mountains! It was so cold but I had my nice cozy Norwegian wool turtle neck on so I was good but it was super cool! Just staring out over Gods creations and feasting upon his words overwhelmed me with the spirit of the Holy Ghost! It made me realize how grateful I am to be able to come out here to this amazing country with these super kind people and share with them what I hold dear to my heart and know to be true! I finished the Book of Mormon while I was up on the mountain and I felt that same confirmation as I did the first time I read it, that it's TRUE! Joseph Smith did restore the same gospel that was on the earth during Christs ministry! And that we can receive personal revelation every time we read from that amazing book. Elder Sobatka (from AF who's been out a year) and Eldste Tilby (from California who's been out 1 transfer longer than me) came to Ålesund last night for splits so we went on this sick drive today called Trollstigen because the ferry's were closed to go to the other ones but it was soooooo stinking cool! There was so much snow and It was freezing and I loved it! I have missed snow so much. The view was just amazing! We met some British blokes up at the top that had been road tripping all around Norway it was cool! We also met this lady who sold everything and bought a van and is traveling the world and taking pictures it was sick so we gave her a Book of Mormon to read! But we're going fishing next week which will be awesome because we are going to fill the freezer with some fresh fish! Anyways I'm doing great here in Norway I love doing the Lord's work and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else right now! Also shout out to all my boys out on missions or back home because I love you all and the examples you've always set for me! My boy Max Miller should be heading out soon and Zane Rose got his call and Noah Burb! Love those boys. I tell everyone about the crazy fun stories of the things we did and they all laugh so hard! Keep it kosylig! ( keep it cozy )
