Week 57 Drammen Norway
Another solid week for sure!
We had Vilde's baptism and it was awesome! We had some administrative problems but it went great and we laughed about it afterwards, it's the ordinance that counts!! She's super dope and was so ready to be baptized. She invited all her friends and family which was great and then bore a super strong testimony in front of them which was awesome. We had some lessons with our friend Bjørn and he's a stud. He read the entire Book of Mormon in 5 days and wrote down notes and tons of questions for us which was great! He doesn't work because he has bad health issues because of an accident when he was younger so he's got the time to read! When he was younger he loved playing soccer but then had his accident and ended up loosing most of the feeling in his legs. So he started doing bench competitions and got HUGE. He has tons of records and metals from all over the world and could bench like 700 pounds at one point in his life, it was wack! So because of his past experience in weight training he's decided he's going to train us, so when we come over to visit we go through an entire workout he's made just for us and then we have a lesson afterwards. We're getting spiritually swole and physically swole!
Elder Sobatka from AF and I were on splits this week and we went to the Norwegian golf championships. A member who's a pro here in Norway invited us to go so we got permission from President and we were able to talk with tons of people while we were there. They all had a lot of questions, it was sweet. Then today we met up with this American dude who randomly called us a couple weeks back and said he's been kicking it with the Elders since the 80's and wanted to meet us! He sounded like Old man Mertle off of Sandlot and when we showed up sure enough he looked like him too, we had a good lunch great conversation about baseball and the states. He's coming to our softball tournament in 2 weeks and is so stoked for it. Super cool nice guy who respects the church a ton! We will have to see if we can start teaching him. Other than that just looking forward to when we get to fly up north to Tromsø for zone conference and go on some sick hikes and get some good fishing in up there. Some of the best in Norway!
